Youth Summit for America’s Future & The Community Youth Summit for Waco’s Future

The PDC trained facilitators and coordinated small group sessions at three large educational events in Waco, Texas. The events were designed to build on the President’s Summit on America’s Future. Over 2,000 young people participated in facilitated dialogues to learn how to better serve their communities and materialize their dreams.

Gear Up Waco

PDC partnered with educational institutions in Texas to identify issues related to at-risk middle school students, and to begin guiding them towards higher education. Community Connections: A Forum for Community Leaders

The PDC designed and facilitated a conference for 40 leaders in Washington State. During the three-day event participants discussed visions to improve their community and they developed action plans to achieve their visions. Local residents were trained in PDC methods and later facilitated subsequent annual events.

Alive and Loving Life: Youth – Adult Conversation (March, 2007)

The PDC assisted the Town of Los Gatos to design and facilitate a program designed to enhance awareness and develop solutions to at-risk youth behavior. The purpose of the Youth – Adult Conversation, one of the key events of the Alive and Loving Life program, was to foster inter-generational understanding. As part of the design, youth who attended the event were empowered to lead discussions and to openly discuss at-risk behavior with adult Town leaders.

Improving the Quality of Public Discourse: Sharing Hopes, Histories, and Ways of Working

Anne Frank Dialogue Project

The PDC designed a dialogue process for community members interested in discussing historical and contemporary implications of the Holocaust and the Anne Frank experience. Dialogue guides were mailed to 50 community members who hosted dialogue groups in their homes, schools, churches and workplaces.
